Junior Software Engineer (Lisbon)

As a Software Engineer, you’ll help expanding our system to collect data from more and new webshops. This involves inspecting and analyzing the website’s structure, determining which data to extract, and cleaning the extracted data. This is done using the Python language, which is one of the most popular languages for data analysis & science nowadays.

Responsibilities

  • Developing & maintaining web crawlers
  • Design & developing internal tools and frameworks
  • Design & develop tools to automate testing & QA
  • Building & maintaining distributed data collection systems on AWS
  • Guarantee data integrity and quality by extending our logging, monitoring and outlier detection systems

Minimum qualifications

  • You have a bachelor degree in computer engineering (or relevant)
  • Programming experience with one or more languages: Python (preferred), C#, Java, Scala, C/C++, …
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL
  • Linux experience
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • You are passionate about software engineering

Preferred qualifications

  • You have a masters degree in computer engineering (or relevant)
  • Excellent coding skills and deep knowledge of web technologies
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities and a critical mindset
  • You get energy from working in a highly complex and challenging startup environment with a high tech product
